It's been an incredible first week! I have been overwhelmed with the love I have for this little boy and by the love everyone has shown us! Luke has had many visitors this week and we have been very busy. We came home from the hospital on Monday around noon and life in the Wooldridge house with a baby began. Not much sleeping has been going on, but we have spent lots of good time together. On Tuesday, we went to the doctor and he weighed 7 pounds and 3 ounces. On Friday, he weighed 7 pounds and 6 ounces. I am very grateful to my mother for all of the help she has given us this week. We have eaten very well!
On Saturday, Brock's family got together to celebrate the October birthdays. We had a great meal and fun together. Out of the 12 of us, we have five October birthdays! Berkli- October 11, Me- October 8, Luke- October 17, DT- October 2, and Don- October 17. Luke was born on Brock's grandmother's birthday.
We went to the doctor today! Good news- I'm almost at 4! I'm still not having contractions, so no need to go to the hospital yet. I'm excited that I haven't had to experience pain yet. We put together the stroller tonight and moved in the rocking chair. We're just waiting and chilling out this weekend.
Today I went to the doctor and found out I am almost to two! No contractions yet though. He told me I wouldn't make it to my due date and to make sure the car is ready. He gave me a great report- good blood pressure and my swelling is down- so I lost two pounds. All good news!
I ordered a necklace tonight that I love. It will look something like this. I can't wait to get it in! It's from Box Turtle in Little Rock- shopboxturtle.com
We are all packed up and ready to go just in case Luke decides to arrive a little early. I go to the doctor on Wednesday, so maybe I'll have a better idea then. No contractions so I don't think it will be extremely soon.
Everything is pretty much ready. I worked this weekend on washing some newborn outfits and all of his blankets, cloths, etc... I was hoping to pick up the rocker today, but the rain cancelled those plans. I plan to pick it up early this week and the curtains for his room should be done soon too. I'll post a picture of the almost final product when those two items arrive.
Today was an amazing day! I was blessed by my new friends at GCT. The specialty area teachers hosted a breakfast shower for Luke this morning! The food was great and the gifts were perfect. We got lots of things that we needed and of course cute little baby things too! The top picture is a quilt the fourth grade teachers had made for Luke. It matches his room perfectly. The second picture shows the goodies. My stepmother, who also works at the school, made the centerpiece- isn't it cute? And the last picture is of the girls I work with everyday! I am thankful to everyone for being so kind to us!
On Friday, Brock and I went in for a checkup. Everything is looking good- the doctor said the baby's growth is on track. I was given strict instructions to watch my sodium intake because of swelling, but everything else was good news. I go back in a week and a half!
I found a great website- lovelystitches.com You can design your own diaper bags, totes, bibs, etc... I love monogrammed things and everything can be personalized! I just placed my order for Luke's diaper bag and changing pad. Here's what the bag should look like:
Thursday night, the OGE girls got together for a shower for Little Luke! We met at Mala's house and had great food- especially Mala's homemade strawbery cake! Luke got lots of fabulous gifts. It was so nice to spend time with these girls that I terribly miss!
Yesterday, I went to the doctor for our 32 week appointment. Overall, I got a good report. I've started to swell a little in my feet and hands. My doctor said to watch my sodium intake carefully. Thankfully, no other problems. My mother-in-law, Paige, got to hear Little Luke's heartbeat for the first time at this appointment.
Luke is growing like crazy, therefore, I am too! His movements are getting stronger and more frequent. It is amazing to see and feel all of the movements.
Hi Everyone! My husband, Brock, and I have been married for seven years now. On October 17th,2009, we were blessed with a sweet baby boy- Luke!
